Record 03: The Shelf That Should Not Exist – Song
Some absences are not empty. They are engineered. Returning to the upper galleries after hours, Archivist Vaelorin Ashward locates a shelving unit that does not match any known cataloguing standard, its dimensions subtly wrong, its supports scarred as if they once carried a far greater burden. Yet the books it holds now are light, ordinary, and almost deliberately unimportant. There is no removal order. No transfer ledger. No sealing notice. Only a space preserved with quiet insistence, as though the Archive itself is keeping the shape of what was taken.

Notes: A shelf can remember weight long after the books are gone.
